Comparisons between money values are rarely challenged because the unit of measurement is the same on both sides of the table. But try to agree a valid comparison between, say, money and hunger or thirst. Between two human beings there is a chance of agreement., but repeating the experiment with other units is unlikely to work, let alone other species.
